Count your blessings...name them one by one

I am so very thankful for:

  • a healthy and thriving little girl who brings me more joy than I can even express
  • the opportunity to stay home with her and raise her as my full time job

  • a cozy home and a comfortable life where God always provides for us
  • an amazing church family that loves us
  • a sister and brother-in-law who love the Lord and who I know I can go to for anything

  • a husband who puts up with me and loves me when so often I don't deserve it
  • a mother who is always joyful and so quickly forgives
  • a father who makes me so proud and the wonderful woman who has come into his life
  • a mother-in-law and father-in-law who would do anything for us

  • and what I am most thankful for...that I have been saved by the grace of God through Jesus. Nothing compares to knowing Him and having God in my life. For this, I am eternally grateful.

A few of her favorite things...

I guess most kids have a love of animals or are at least are very curious about them. Jocelyn is especially fond of her 2 dogs, Reo and Reagan. Like her mommy, she most often loves on Reagan because she is the non-stinky dog of the two. But don't worry, Reo is Daddy's favorite so he is not neglected :)
She loves to stand in the doorway and give them treats, which they very gently take from her little hand.

"Bay Bay Bay!" This is what we hear all day, every day. She loves, loves, loves babies! She tends to her little baby for the longest periods of time, already participating in imaginary play with it. It makes me feel good to see how lovingly she feeds, holds, and kisses her baby since the only mothering skills she has learned are from me. But I also wonder how much of that is instilled in the hearts of little girls...to be a mommy.
My friend, Katie's little baby (whose blog you can visit using the link to the right) is a baby that Jocelyn is around a lot. Her name is Lily and Jocelyn is starting to call ALL babies "Lilili"
Jocelyn askes to go bye bye and see Lily and to see her picture on the frig. It is so sweet to hear her try to say her name.
Here is "Lilili"

This girl is horse crazy!! Which I love and fear at the same time. I fear it because my mom has horses and has taken my niece, Grace on rides since she was very young. She even went with her on 4 hour trail rides at 5 years old! I don't want Jocelyn to ask me anytime soon to ride on those big unpredictable animals with Mimi! And of course Levon will want to let her and make me seem like the overprotective one!
Anyways, she really does just naturally love them, spotting them everywhere and calling out "neigh! neigh!" I'm sure my mom is just delighted about that...2 grandchildren who love horses as much as she does.

Polish Kiss

I was trying to get a picture of the 2 of us together, but Jocelyn had other things in mind!
My Dad used to lick our faces when we were little..a little gross I know, but he is 1/2 Polish so that was his excuse :)
Levon wants me to break her of this licking habit, although she really doesn't do it too much. I think I need to teach her to give kisses on the cheek instead of the lips since I hear people are most contagious before they even know they are sick, and it IS cold and flu season! Did you know I am a little OCD? Again, thanks Dad!
No really, there isn't anything wrong with wanting to keep your kid well, right!?

Independent Eater

Jocelyn now insists on eating every meal and snack with a fork or spoon. This makes things a little more messy, but it is all about gaining independence at this age so we have to deal with it! Actually, she is getting pretty good with utensils! And I can get her to eat certain foods she otherwise wouldn't eat because it is so much fun to eat it with a spoon. When she wants to eat she leads us into the kitchen and makes a clicking sound with her tongue while pointing at the high chair or countertop. It's pretty funny, but we feel like she does it all day. The girl likes to eat :)

Do you think she likes to take baths?

My favorite part is the way she runs! It always makes us laugh!

Sleeping In

I actually had to wake these 2 up after 10:00 a.m. one Sunday so that we wouldn't be late for church! Who knows how long they would have slept if I hadn't disturbed them. ;)

Mondays

On Monday afternoons we go play with the boys while Aunt Brooke goes to a meeting. All 3 of them seem to really enjoy this time together. Anteneh likes to pull Jocelyn around in the wagon and Luke supervises Jocelyn's playtime with the kitten. They are so good with her!
