Our Visit with Ella

Jocelyn and I took a road trip up to the Indy area with my friend Jennifer to visit our good friends Haley, Dane, and little Ella. Jocelyn and Ella had a blast together, although I had a hard time getting Jocelyn to realize that every baby doll does not just belong to her. Sharing sure is a hard concept to learn at 18 months!

Haley took us to the Indianapolis Zoo, which was pretty impressive compared to the Evansville Zoo. It was a cool day, which was good because the animals weren't all hot and asleep.
Here the girls are waiting to pet the little sharks.

This walrus actually "played" with people through the glass!

Haley lives right next to some nice trails and playgrounds.

It's good to have an out of town BFF! It makes for some fun little vacations.

We gave Ella a mini makeover...we trimmed her bangs for the first time and gave her pigtails! Those pigtails sure do transform our "toddlers" into little girls!
A little video of all the fun!

Baby Crazy!

Fortunately for Levon, I don't have baby fever yet. But Jocelyn sure does!

Yes, I'm aware that a couple of these babies have a creepy look to them. I'm currently on a mission to find her a boy baby and a baby with a different ethnicity for her collection.

She has a serious love for babies...When we go to storytime, she is way more interested in the baby across the room sleeping in the carseat than she is the 20 kids and toys spread out across the floor. It kind of makes me sad that her Daddy is so dead set on her being the only one. She would really love a little baby in the family. I'll work on that in the future :)

It also seems like the more tiny the baby the better. I don't have a picture of it but her great grandma Gray gave her a little bitty "Sugar Lump" porcelain baby that she made. Boy, does Jocelyn love that thing. It already underwent total head reconstruction surgery and was lost under the bed covers for a few days, but is now in one piece and Jocelyn was thrilled to find it again!
It's a good thing that all of our friends are having babies nowadays... Jocelyn loves to go visit them and she has a lot of love to give!

Do All Kids Do This?!

In Jocelyn's eyes, everything in this house has the potential to get her to higher spots...and to things she isn't supposed to play with! You have to admire her creativity though :)

Getting Back to Herself

Jocelyn happened to be one of the twenty kids that get a nasty reaction from some new vaccinations that she got last week. She is finally starting to feel better after having a fever for over 3 days and on top of that some bad congestion. She has been just miserable and hasen't been eating much at all.

It's good to have my happy little girl back!

Speaking of the doctor's visit...She is now at the 100th percentile for height and still off the charts for weight. He thinks she will burn off the baby fat this summer so he isn't worried. Now my goal is to get her outside and running around as much as possible. Not that I'll have to work hard at that, this kid is ACTIVE!!

Our Warm and Windy Weekend

The first really warm day that we were able to spend a lot of time outside was Saturday. We started by moving all outdoor toys to the deck which was great because it freed up a ton of space in Jocelyn's room. Of course the sandbox was already outside. Jocelyn is covering her face in the picture above, little did she know that the picture taking had just begun!

Levon and a few others very much dislike the Pebbles ponytail, but it got her hair out of her face on a VERY windy day!
I'm just excited that she has hair... she already has way more than I did when I was a year older than her!

She just adores her swing, which she calls "row, row" from the song 'row your boat'.

Next, we took a short drive over to the elementary school playground. She was excited!

We had fun...now if only this nice weather will last!
