Lil Stylist

While I was getting ready one morning, Jocelyn decided to try on some of my jewelry.

I actually think this necklace looks pretty good as a headpiece!

I had to do a little photo shoot of her with her pink snowman sweater on.
I think it is seriously cute.

Dirt Pudding

We made Aunt Brooke's recipe for Dirt Pudding the other night, and Jocelyn got to lick beaters for the first time!

As you can see, she figured out how it's done pretty quickly!

I even let her clean off the masher from when we crushed up the oreos!

She even helped wash the dishes when she was done!

Here's the recipe:
12 oz pkg Oreos, crushed
9 oz cool whip
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 stick butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
2 pkgs French vanilla instant pudding
3 cups milk
spread 1/2 Oreos (crushed) in bottom of 13x9" pan.
mix up pudding & milk. Add cool whip, cream cheese,
melted butter, & powdered sugar. Pour over Oreos in pan.
Top with other half of crushed cookies.
Refrigerate.
Brooke put it in a clean flower pot with a big fake flower and gummy worms for Luke's 1st birthday instead of a cake..it was really cute.

Wash, Wash!

I decided to let Jocelyn help me wash some dishes one day and I'm telling you, the girl is HOOKED! Everytime I go to even rinse a dish off, she runs over yelling, "wash, wash!" She acts hurt that I would do it without her. She pulls a chair over, climbs up, and is ready to wash. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "What have I started?" It's pretty sweet though.
When we brush our teeth at night we sing, "We're going to brush, brush, brush, our teeth...brush the germs away." So when she was washing dishes, she started to sing "wash, wash..." in the same tune as our toothbrush song. If only I can convince her to keep the water IN the sink!

Stinker

Somebody figured out that she can push the kitchen chairs around to reach whatever she wants on the countertops. She also can get a better view of some much loved pictures. I have some down at her level, but that wasn't good enough!

I moved some of the pictures from the frig to a collage frame in the bathroom, so now she tries to stand on the toilet to get a better look. She has already fallen once trying to do this, not to mention, she has dunked her baby in the toilet twice, so we are going to have to keep the bathroom door shut. Why in the world would Elmo teach kids in his book to put their dolls on the potty!!!??? Why wouldn't Elmo just sit on the toilet?

Here she is checking out a picture of her "numanum" (nana) and papaw.
Look at that cheese! Trying on Daddy's shoes is always fun!

Sometimes...

it's the simple moments in life that are the most fun.

Like when Levon or I follow Jocelyn as she climbs up onto her bed...

and she pretends to put baby to sleep. "shhhh" she tells us.
Or we have a little photo shoot with all of her animals.

It's also moments like these that remind me that the best thing we can give her is our time...
It's not the toys that give her so much pleasure, it's the undivided attention from us. I love it!

Mommy's Helper

Isn't it funny how much kids love to do chores at this age? Jocelyn jumps at the chance to "help" me dust, vacuum, unload the dishwasher, clean up toys, and do laundry. If only the love of housework would last!

Here she is taking the wet clothes out...

and putting them in the dryer.

Don't forget to turn it on!

whoops, some got lost along the way.

A friend came over to go through some of Jocelyn's old baby clothes and Jocelyn thought she would "help" by tossing all the baby socks out of the tub and climbing inside. Of course her baby came too. Lately, storage tubs, shopping carts, and laundry baskets have made the perfect "boats" for 'Row, Row, Row, the Boat'.
Speaking of friends and babies, we just found out that our friend, Sarah, will be having a boy this summer. This is a great turn of events for us because literally 9 or so of the last pregnant friends/acquaintances of mine have had girls! This poor little boy will be surrounded by girls at our playdates!

Pure Delight...

...for Jocelyn, is having her favorite baby over and sitting in her favorite little chair!

Lily found it quite comfy too!
