While Levon was out of town for work, Jocelyn and I stayed with my Dad in Vincennes. I wanted Jocelyn to get a long visit in with her Grandpa to show him her sweet personality and that's just what she did! Grandpa introduced her around town as "the new Gerber baby" and she took to him right away. She liked exploring around his place, petting the deer on the wall, and she now has a new love of wind chimes! She even took her first steps while we were there!
Jocelyn and I got to spend more time getting to know Dad's girlfriend, Sharon, during our visit. We love her!! Jocelyn took to her really fast too. I'm always surprised when she goes to people she doesn't know very well because sometimes she is so shy. I think certain types of people give her a good vibe and she trusts her instincts!
We went to visit Great Grandpa in the assisted living home. He seems to be doing well and enjoyed watching Jocelyn crawl around his room. He turns 93 this Sunday and we will be going back to attend a birthday party for him this weekend. My favorite childhood memories include my Grandpa!!! I love him so much... it is fun to show him my daughter!!
Hanging out after dinner....
My Dad gave Jocelyn this teddy bear that his aunt gave his mom when she was sick in the hospital. Jocelyn has several stuffed animals that she doesn't pay much attention to, but for some reason she LOVES this bear! She is always giving it hugs!! It is like she knows it is special!

Jocelyn has taken 10 steps at a time so far!!! Soon she will be full out walking and at only 9 months! It is like she isn't a baby anymore!! She is also giving kisses when she is in a good mood! More teeth are coming in and she is trying to rip out the carpet and fur from stuffed animals with her teeth! It is pretty funny sometimes, Oh, and she loves to spit!! It is so hard to tell her NO when I can't stop laughing! She is testing her boundaries a lot lately. She very quietly will do something she is not supposed to do (like climb the fireplace or eat paper) while looking right at me to see if I am looking! I can't tell you how many times I have been busy doing something and look up at her to catch her doing that. Then when she sees me look, she willl stop what she is doing and smile! I read that defiance is a sign of intelligence because kids feel secure enough to test their limits. Yeah, I'll keep telling myself that!!
