Don't even think about buying her an expensive toy! Just give her a spatula... it provides almost an hour of entertainment!
We went to the doctor last week for a checkup and this healthy girl is now 24lbs. at 10 months. She is still in the 90-95% for height and weight and is ahead of schedule, according to the doctor, with her skills- walking for a month now and starting to say words. She screamed the entire time the nurse or doctor was in the room! She usually is so good. She is starting to realize that this is the place she gets held down to be examined and get shots and she is not having it!! Well, the doc let me know what to expect next...tantrums. I wouldn't say that is what she is doing already, but I would say that she is displaying some very toddler-like behavior!
for example:
- when she is told NO she will stop doing whatever it is, most of the time, but will cry so much and run to us for a hug like we hurt her feelings :(
- She smacks people in the face to get a reaction...yeah, will someone please tell Levon to stop laughing when she does this!!
- She is tossing her food on the floor..won't eat until I've had enough and get her out of her chair and just guess what she does... starts eating it off the floor
- Her littles fingers cannot control themselves when she sees my laptop and will try to press all the keys over and over again no matter how many times I push her hand away!! (see picture below)
Please don't mistake all of this for complaining! I'm just giving an update on her development, and we all know that defiance is all part of healthy development.. But if you have any advice for these behaviors, I'm all ears!!
Just look at this face! Do you think she is tired of my kisses??
This is her face when she just wakes up...kind of dazed.
And if she got enough sleep, this is her face shortly after that!
It is so funny how Jocelyn will play so contently when I don't have much to do, but the moment I am really busy using both of my hands, like this day when I was baking a cake, she is climbing up my leg crying! I let her get closer to the action and chew on some measuring spoons...that bought me some time.
"When will it be done, mommy?" Chocolate chip zucchini cake...yum!
Uh Oh! Jocelyn has Daddy's PS3 controller again. Daddy always reminds Jocelyn how expensive those things are!
Busted!!
