During Memorial Day weekend we went to Patoka Lake and stayed in a cabin with a bunch of our friends. We had such a GREAT time! It really couldn't have gone better, besides a few people getting sun burnt- thankfully, Jocelyn wasn't one of them! It was our first vacation away from home as a family of three and it couldn't have come at a better time. Daddy needed a break from reality. Mommy needed a social life. Jocelyn needed a change of scenery. It was perfect. Jocelyn is at a really fun age right now, crawling around, being cute, lots of smiles, really entertaining everyone. She was in such a good mood all weekend- so easy going and even slept well in a strange place. I had to let go a little bit of my control and germ issues this weekend and let her crawl around on the nasty cabin carpet! I even let her touch a fish and suck on the side of the boat! You see, I'm not as bad as people think. I let my kid have fun! She picked up a new habit while we were there- her little tongue was out constantly! It still is now that we are home! I see a little white speck of a new tooth coming in- on top this time! Maybe that explains the tongue!
Mommy and Jocelyn FINALLY got to ride on Daddy's boat for the first time thanks to the floatie suit that Nana brought over right before we left. We were out on the water for about 3 hours on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. Jocelyn was wonderful! The sound and motion of the boat put her to sleep for naps twice each day and when she was awake she was content with just looking at her surroundings!
We watched Daddy wakeboard off a friend's ski boat. He was so good! We were impressed!
Daddy's Little Fishing Buddy getting an early start.
Look close enough and you will see Joce cleaning the side of the boat with her tongue!
When we got back to the cabin, Jocelyn tried out her new pool! She had so much fun splashing around in that thing!
In a couple of weeks, we are going "real" camping in a tent. We'll see how that goes! I'm a little nervous!
