The Charm of a Little Red Monster

I knew it would happen sooner or later. I'm just thankful it wasn't with the Wiggles. Jocelyn has her first full blown obsession; and it is with Elmo. I can kind of see why he sucks kids in so easily. I mean, have you heard his cute little voice? She asks for him often and it all runs together like this, "Elmoelmoelmoelmoelmo." And of course, eveytime she asks, Levon turns it on. He even turned off his playstation game when she asked once and you can guess what happens when I go out with my friends for dinner. I don't want her to watch too much tv, although she is so active that she doesn't sit very long.

So, here she is watching once during lunch. I let her finish the recording that she was watching while I got lunch together. I will give Elmo credit. He does help me get things done around the house every once and awhile.

Watching with her fancy hat on.

Already multi-tasking! She is so distracted that baby is getting fed through her eye.

Her buddy Mitchell started her obsession. He has Elmo Live, which is a pretty impressive little doll!

He put his arm around her, which she is shrugging off!

Daddy bought her an Elmo DVD and Grandpa and Grandma Sharon gave us a little tv, so Daddy set up a little area in the living room for Jocelyn to watch on the occasions that we are watching a show or I am doing an exercise video.

I promise, we aren't turning her into a couch potato! Elmo is the only thing she watches and I limit the time...but it sure is cute to see her get so excited about him.

Seriously. Hannah Grace has the obsession, too. But, she got it from podcasts because we didn't bring our TV back from Germany with us. Did you know sesame street has podcasts? We have a TON downloaded and put them together so she can watch them when we go on trips in the car or plane. And, if we are having a stressful day and she just needs to be distracted, I will say that she can watch three (or whatever) because they are only about five minutes long. And, I made grandma and grandpa record Sstreet on their TV for when we come. I wish we could buy seasons of it but it's not available. I think our children would have a blast together. Too bad we don't live closer to one another ;( If you ever get the itch to come travel down south we have extra space. Just a thought ;
